I visited this restaurant at the end of a Spanish Harlem walking tour. I never had Puerto Rican food before and was worried there wouldn't be any vegetarian options, but there were a few things for me to choose from.
I had the vegetarian mofongo and it was really flavorful! Sometimes plantains can be a bit bland but this combination of plantain, vegetables, and spices was very fresh and enjoyable. I wasn't able to finish everything on my plate but I surely tried my best!
I was at a table of six people, and everyone was happy with their meal with the exception of one woman who felt her salmon was a bit dry. Another person from our table tried it and agreed with her. The other disappointment was that they were out of pernil, which three people from our six person party had been particularly looking forward to.
I had a glass of sangria with my meal and it was great! Often sangria can be too sweet or lacking in alcohol but this was neither. There was no visible fruit but it was still one of the best sangrias I've had in a while.
