Man v. Food
Clearly this place needs another review. So let me get started. My brother was
in town and per food network directions asked to go here. So we went for lunch,
during the day time because I don’t know East LA like that. Just being honest.
HOWEVER, it is fantastic for delivery! Not gonna lie… I actually had it two
out of three nights. I had a personal size pizza the first night, and it was so
good that I got another one ordered to my hotel room a couple nights later.
Overall a really stellar special occasion restaurant. While it’s not as lively
as Nana’s, it definitely has a lot more class and refinement. A great
restaurant to go for a special dinner!
Ate here recently with the family. Was excellent as always. Love the burgers
and rings. Shakes and choice of bread was great too. I’ve been going to this
location for years and years. Always a pleasure! I like the inside of this
location because it has the 50’s burger joint feel. My wife and kids love the
burgers, fries and chocolate shakes! We will be back!
Remember when the $5 shake was a big deal in Pulp Fiction at Jackrabbit Slim’s?
Remember the incredulous reaction Travolta had when he said, “That’s milk and
ice cream… that’s $5?”
Just thinking about my last Wop Chop makes my mouth water. I need to plan a
trip to Butte soon.
We went on a quiet Sunday night. There were maybe two other tables with people
dining. Looking around at all of the vacant tables makes my mind wander in what
it’s like on a busy day. Even though it was quiet, the accordion player was
jamming polka music and the other diners were drinking to the toast of “Prost!”
Got a carry out supreme style deep dish. Very good and some might consider it
the best because tastes vary. I can say that if you go here you won’t be
disappointed though. Its traditional and well made.
Gladys Knight’s Chicken & Waffles. After over a decade of living in Atlanta, I
finally made it to this popular Atlanta establishment. I’m happy to report I
had a good time here. BTW, If you’re wondering who Ron Winans is, he’s a
gospel singer.
This is well worth pulling off I-40 a mile into downtown Amarillo on Route 66
for. We read about the joint in the Stern’s 500 Things To Eat Before They Are
Gone (aka 500 Things to Eat that Might Kill You) and stopped by for a late
lunch on a trek from the ATL to LA. The thing in the book is Flagstaff Pie,
which is a Frito Pie served on a plate instead of in a Fritos bag. Add hand cut
fries and a cold draft Shiner Bock and oh my. It looks pretty much unchanged
for 50 years. God bless…
The same person has been making the noodles and pie crust for like 40 something
years. On top of all this it is ridiculously cheap and the whole building
looks like its from the pioneer days. If you’re in Indianapolis you need to go
here.
I loved it! Pastrami Sandwich was excellent! The table next to us was from out
of town so they over ordered just to try as much as they could. I’ve never seen
so much food on a table! WOW! Melissa and I split the sandwich. Do not judge
this place by the building you would be making a big mistake!
Heid’s Hot dogs are the absolute best hot dogs you will ever eat. They serve
two kinds: red and white hot dogs.
Kind of regretted coming here later in the week while I was visiting Honolulu
with the bf. Otherwise, we would be here EVERY FREAKIN DAY!!! Seriously one of
the best places to eat. Even though I went here last year, I can still taste
the delicious short ribs and kalua pig over rice. Delish!
This place has got to be the most delicious place for some ribs!! No..??
Please prove me wrong and let me know where I can find something better.
The ribs falls off the bone and just melt in your mouth kinda thing!
The plate of ribs can feed my entire family with left overs, no kidding!
IT’S MAGICAL! Especially with their BBQ sauce and garlic bread.. OH MYYY!
I’ve also tried their mushrooms and they were pretty amazing too.
My dad and I found the High Life Lounge on a cross country road trip from
Connecticut to LA using ‘TV Food Maps’ a random android app I found that is a
database of restaurants featured on TV. Knowing that we were driving through
Des Moines during lunch time on our way to Omaha from Chicago, the app gave us
a few choices. We went with this one, and could not have made a better call.
Upon arriving we were greeted with a great smile from the valet & the front
desk. The lobby had the hawaiian feel I wanted especially since it was my very
first time in Hawaii, I was excited.
I love ice cream and have trouble thinking of ever having bad ice cream. Even
so, Hoffman’s is a step above almost any place I’ve been to.
I heard about this place from the show Man vs. Food & always wanted to try it.
Not too bad!! Generous portions for $6 that consisted of four long strips of
fried fish & two slices of simple white or wheat bread.
This place is oh so tasty!! The great thing about their chicken is that, you
don’t even need their hot sauce for it to taste so good. With the hot sauce,
the chicken goes from good to great. The pieces of chicken are typically big,
hot, and filling. Truly hit the spot if you’re wanting a taste of the south,
up here in Northeast Ohio.
