The Best Thing I Ever Ate
This place is so good. And the 3 other people with me agree. I had the goat
cheese ravioli and I have to say it was the best fresh ravioli I have had at a
restaurant. The sauce was so tasty and was a hint spicy as well.
They bang a drum, and sound a siren and yell and hollar and sing you happy
birthday. Its pretty consistent as well, at least the night we were there was.
By far, my worst dining experience in the LA area. The bar tender, Ted, had an
attitude from the moment we sat down and my friend and I just looked at each
other like, “What’s up with this guy?”
I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed my meal every time. The atmosphere
is really chill and I’ve have always stopped by without reservations. I’ve
had the Nasi Lemak, the Short Rib Rendang, and the Pork Belly with Watermelon
as well as the tea sandwiches and a few other starters. The food gets ordered
all at once and as a dish gets cooked it comes out, so appetizers may not come
out before your entrees.
A visit to Fearings is a treat all round. First its located in the Ritz Carlton
hotel so walking through the lobby foyer is an experience in opulence right
there. The rattlesnake bar comes next.. dimly lit with a mix of “old money”,
“new money” and “would do anything for money” types. How I love to people watch
here!
I’ve ben here once, and that was an unforgettable experience. The ice cream is
definitely all-American creaminess, which may be delicious but after your fifth
bite, you will get sick of it (this may be because my sweet tooth is not that
great).
I love this place. It was recommended to me by a friend who grew up in the
neighborhood long before it became gentrified and hipster.
I am only a fan of their Lobster Tail. The Italian Cheesecake and the Cannoli
is a meh pastry.
Built on the original location of Olives before the fire, Figs is a great place
to eat if you understand a few things before you go.
After the meat-heavy dishes from the holidays (and before yet another
meat-heavy New Year’s Eve dinner), we chose Fish for a seafood lunch and were
we glad we did!

I’ve only been to the 5 points 2 times, but it’s an experience each time.
The food is awesome and probably one of the best in the area if you’re looking
for an above par brunch. They also have churros and hot chocolate - uhm double
yum.
On a cold windy morning this past weekend I came up to Austin on a mission to
try “Austiny” restaurants. My boyfriend, having lived in Austin for a few years
decided to take me to one of his favorite food trucks, thus, we ended up at
Flip Happy Crepes.
This review may not be too accurate because I had Flo’s about 4 years ago when
I visited Rhode Island for the first time.
I went to Founding Farmers for dinner on New Year’s Eve. They had their
regular menu, not some fixed price absurdly expensive menu, so that was a plus.
The pie: Salted Caramel Apple Pie. Perfectly balanced with the buttery crust,
which wasn’t stiff at all and was KIND of caramel-y… but really just
delicious apples (which tasted CRISP! After being soaked in caramel and juice!
Yay!)
Way back when before I use to not order steak at restaurants, I always ordered
chicken or pasta, I use to come here all the time.
I shared them with Mr. L, but told him he had to hurry or they’d be gone. As
Ben P. says, “Chocolate is a demanding mistress.”
My wife and I often eat here (like one or twice a week). My favorite thing on
the menu is the quinoa salad. Dead simple but still delicious and I always eat
it thinking, I could make this but you know what? I’m too lazy and so I come
here to have it and it’s really good. The food is always solid and extremely
reasonably priced.
We went for my birthday and they seated us in the kitchen. I loved it-
watching them prepare the food was a lot of fun. The service was great, the
food was fantastic and the overall experience- top notch!
