Golden Light Cafe

This is well worth pulling off I-40 a mile into downtown Amarillo on Route 66 for. We read about the joint in the Stern’s 500 Things To Eat Before They Are Gone (aka 500 Things to Eat that Might Kill You) and stopped by for a late lunch on a trek from the ATL to LA. The thing in the book is Flagstaff Pie, which is a Frito Pie served on a plate instead of in a Fritos bag. Add hand cut fries and a cold draft Shiner Bock and oh my. It looks pretty much unchanged for 50 years. God bless America.
