L and L Tavern

After walking up Halsted searching for a place to kill a couple of hours before continuing my journey out of state and only seeing one lame bar after the other, I figured I might as well walk the four blocks back and save myself from more disappointment.

Might as well check out the first bar I that piqued my interest after getting off the brown line: the L and L Tavern. I could tell the moment I came in that this wasn’t a bad choice. Granted, it was rather empty even for a Sunday night (Chicagoans apparently like to get to bed early for the work week). Beer is more on the cheap side: cans and bottles. PBR is $2.50 for a 12 oz, but their monthly specials seem to be the way to go for a dollar more: better beer and probably higher ABV.
