Perla is definitely lively in the evenings, though still rather comfortable and relaxed for a restaurant that's almost constantly packed. While the oxblood colored booths seem regal and very cushioned, the chef's counter at the back of the restaurant is where it's at. Sure, you may not get to socialize with the bartenders (who make amazing cocktails, btw) such is the case with the front bar, but the chef's counter is much more intimate and dare I say, romantic. As romantic as bar seating could be, anyway. It's only a bonus that you can also watch the kitchen do their thing and gawk at every plate on the pass.
