We were first served some warm savory (dense) filo dough bread accompanied by a pepper-oil sauce for dipping. The bread was a bit bland but it served its purpose. I have soft spot for all thing filo dough though. (tongue twister!)

Loved the goat cheese guacamole. The cucumber margarita was amazing. Guava was a little on the sweet side. And two margaritas in, the rest of my review is kind of suspect…they don’t skimp on the tequila, but you sure don’t taste it.

This is where we go for date night, take out, celebration dinners, parents-in-town, quick lunch break, and every occasion in between. The food is just downright fantastic. We always like to try a few new things from the pretty extensive menu, but these are our staples.

I don’t understand the negative reviews about the size of the portions (we were very satisfied after the meal), the size of the space (yes you can see the kitchen but it is in no way cramped), the service (our server was incredibly friendly and helpful with smile on her face the whole time), or the chefs (the head chef wasn’t around when we were there but we still had a fabulous meal).

Every sandwich I’ve had here has been excellent! Tuna and the italian sub all stand out to me as the best of the best, but I also can’t forget the excellent hot dogs (although they are quite hard to eat so if on date, stay away!)

We ordered the Godfather II and the Tilapia Melt. We could only finish half of the GFii sandwich. It was salty, filling, and spicy. Pretty good combo. The Tilapia Melt was demolished! The cabbage went well with the lightness of the fish, plus that sauce. The real winner– that bread.

Oh Num Pang, how I love thee. You never disappoint me with your delicious array of sandwiches. Though I’m mostly faithful to the cauliflower sammie, the coconut tiger shrimp is my mistress.

The best meal in recent memory. From our starters to dessert, I was floored by Olivia’s attention to detail and powerful pairings. Consider, for example, the bacon and caramel-flavored popcorn fried in duck fat.

Came here on a recommendation from my sister and had an amazing lunch. Combined we got five plates: a chicken tamale, a pork taco, mole fries, meatballs and a black bean patty stuffed with Chihuahua cheese. I didn’t try the tamale but everything else ranged from good to amazing. Here’s the breakdown:

My father, brother and I were taking a drive into Pennsylvania and drove through Philly. It wasn’t our destination but we were hungry. So a quick look at Yelp and suggestion from my brother’s friend and we found Paesanos.

Corn cakes are my favorite of anything on the menu. Price is moderate but the food presentation is surprisingly good for what really does look like a bar. The bread on the sandwiches is great. Really weird they don’t have a burger though.

Calling southern eats “exquisite” seems like an oxymoron but it really is the truth here.

Ambiance is the classic hipster setting, the people are pretty cool and a relax atmosphere. Being in the vicinity of Little Tokyo, makes it a easy place to get to walking. Parking can be a bitch if you drive, and riding by bike can also be a bitch finding a spot to lock up your ride.. Is it worth it? It’s one of my top spots in the city. Going to the pie hole to put in my mouth hole.

The main dish here is the Porchetta sandwich. The reason this sandwich is amazing is because it’s loaded with pork fat. Does that interest you? If you are reading this review, then it damn well should!

Let me start by saying that I didn’t realize Public was a Michelin rated restaurant until after our experience; Totally unpretentious, and well executed dishes. I will also state that my friend whom accompanied me was blown away by the food and drinks. I believe he said it was the best meal he’d ever eaten. He’s right too -The food is phenomenal.

How adorable! My friends and I walked all the way out to this place because our pregnant buddy REALLY wanted pudding….and when a pregnant friend has a craving, we all oblige.

Guess you just have to come at a right time. Sunday brunch is not a bad time at all.
Panceta+egg pizza was great. Never thought eggs on pizza could taste this good.

My distaste for hipsters is rivaled by my taste for tasty things, so I finally sat inside, rather than dashing out with an iced mocha latte for the fifth time. Plus I was wearing a Hollister hoodie I detest because I am not 15 but ran out of clothing, so maybe I finally, ironically, fit in.

How do we celebrate end of semester? By eating, of course! Nick actually had a dream about Raku the night before - guess you can imagine how much we were looking forward to it.
