You know a Japanese place is legit before even trying their food when: 1) you
call to make a reservation and the hostess answers in Japanese, and 2) the
customers at the other tables are Japanese.
I had a spicy watermelon something-or-other to drink. For $14, it didn’t even
give me a hint of a buzz. Dinner was the clam pizza, which lived up to its hype
and was delicious.
I have some friends who are REALLY into brunch. Like I think they live for it.
As hungover as they might be, they still wanna truck out to eat off special
menus between 11am and 2pm on a weekend.
On the downside, the wait can be long for a table. And I looked everywhere for
an actual Screen Door and did not see one.
They’ve definitely perfected the sweet science of the fast food burger.
Something about the way all the ingredients come together- the juicy patty, the
ooey gooey warm and melted cheddar cheese and fresh veggies- selfishly leaves
your mouth watering and keeps you excited for the next bite.
After our day of Flushing Food Crawl, we decided to end the night at Sik Gaek
for a long casual sit down dinner. The place was super packed and we had to
wait quite a bit for a table of four. Don’t forget to go to the front station
to put in your name and number of guests and not just wait in the long line..
This place is okay. Typical breakfast food with vegan and gluten-free options.
I don’t get the whole paying to cook my own food thing, which seems to be the
big appeal of this place.
There were so many vendors to choose from, I didn’t know what else to do but to
start knocking them down one by one. Sad to say, I didn’t get very far but the
fish and chips and the potato Terriyaki balls were delicious. Reasonable prices
and a good reason to get out early on Saturdays.
The place was swarming with folks, all happily waiting for their orders to
finish. The line moved quickly.
Great pasta and desert, the secondi was a bit of a low point but not due to
quality just because the pasta is so amazing.
One thing that stands out about New Orleans is the never-ending variety of
unbelievable food! Brimstone here to tell you about an incredible NOLA gem
that goes by the name of Squeal Bar-B-Q… a place that has quickly become near
and dear to my heart.
Sweet Revenge cupcake AND wine pairings! its the perfect, slightly drunken
ending to your day of naughtiness and indulgence.
My overall experience a Talula’s Table was enjoyable however after waiting one
year for our reservation and the high price per person, I expected more with
regard to the food presentation and taste.
Great service. Perfect food. Fun for sharing. Plus there are some fantastic
little shops in back, including a snazzy toy store and a butcher shop run by
cute ladies, for keeping busy while you wait.
Thank god for restos opening secondary locations. That is the only way I can
explain the perfection of my night here. When this place first opened, my bf
contributed to the wine menu – they had soms write up different pages – and
we were crammed in here A LOT. Emphasis on crammed. Miserable, elbowing at the
bar, cramming.
My girlfriends and I had dinner here on Friday night. We were supposed to be a
party of 6, so we were able to make a reservation 2 weeks in advance. Because
of our large party size, we were required to do a pre-fixe menu full of the
Chef’s choices. I was a little apprehensive about this due to the general lack
luster connotation of the word “pre-fixe”, but everything that we ate was truly
AMAZING.
No doubt this grocery store will continue to adapt as the neighborhood changes,
but they could obviously use some better management! Consistent lines can
sometimes make it a hassle to shop due to lack of organization.
Amazing, light, sweet custard. I didn’t know such a perfect thing could exist.
Growing up I became familiar with homemade ice cream, but didn’t experience the
joys of custard. I am glad I was able to have custard from elsewhere so I could
truly appreciate how magical The Dairy Godmother is.
Ordered a bloody Mary as well as a bloody Ceasar, which is a twist on the
original and almost a meal in itself. Comes with a piece of bacon in the
glass, :) nice for hangovers.
Me and my two great friends come here almost weekly, and it’s never
disappointed. I love my scotch, my tall friend Donny loves his gin, and my bald
friend Mack (not their real names) love anything they give us. For Mack’s
birthday, we got their apple cider drink, and when they said it was served hot,
it meant it was lit on FIRE. How awesome is that. I’ve pretty much gone through
their scotch menu (and it’s an extensive one), and they don’t skimp. Whether
it’s…
