I found Sweet P’s Barbeque last year, with some friends on the way back from
Townsend. It left such an impression that I felt the need to seek it out
during the 46 hours I was in Ktown this year.
“Cute & cheap. I’ll take one of everything! Some of the reviews mention Anna
Belen being expensive but most of what I saw was $1.80.
We had 7 people. Four of us were vegetarian. Black bean chili, Hungarian
mushroom soup and Mac and cheese were excellent!
The BEST taqueria in San Francisco. The original & still the BEST. Best corn
tortillas, best beans, best horchata & best carne asada.
“I’ve had a few good experiences here, and am certainly happy to return. Tools
does have happy hour, though you’ll need to ask your bartender for details;
it’s never really been advertised or touted when i was there.
This is the place I always bring people to if it’s the summertime and they are
not from New England. It feels like a New England clambake which goes on every
day - all summer long.
I must thank the Yelpers who laid the groundwork to help me find this
place…you did NOT steer me wrong.
We ordered the “Westport” mixed seafood for two. The crabs were cooked just
right. Not under not over. Of course that was the first thing we dug into.
Clams, Oysters, Shrimp were good as well. Nothing over or under cooked. The
wait staff were very helpful and quick. Not too busy…The Widmer Hef is a
great choice to drink…a bit citrus and sweet with some fuzz going down hit
the spot.
Shack.. literally a shack… with unique fixtures and random items hung from
the ceiling and on the walls.
Seriously, what’s up with the bad reviews? There is a reason this place has
stayed in business for 70 years. To the person who claims it’s just like any
other hot dog in the south, clearly your an idiot with no taste buds and if you
like Yankee dogs so much, then please by all means get yourself a bus ticket
and go have one, otherwise stop complaining and get a life. No offense to those
from the North :)
Oh my lordy. What an experience! I’m not that much of a meat-eater but these
sweet smoky glazed pork ribs brought out my inner hyena. Fingers were sticky,
words turned into snarls, hot BBQ sauce was slopped…I had to remember to take
a breath between each mouthful. I even found myself picking meat scraps off my
friends Beef Ribs, just to savor that TASTE. Don’t judge me.
Workmates & I visited the Silo for lunch on a typically BEAUTIFUL Buffalo
summer day. The breezes off the river were phenomenal and the the view was
equally amazing. A+++ for location.
Oh sweet tater tots this place rocks. The decor is just enough raunchy and just
enough cool to entertain men and women both. I loved the snarky attitude of the
menu..they have rules and it’s awesome that a business is confident in saying
that the customer is NOT always right.
My boyfriend and I really love this place, but I would love it more if they had
kept the vegetarian seitan/cheesesteak sandwich. I get it, the chef does what
he wants, but lots and lots of people love this sandwich including my
non-vegetarian boyfriend.
Outstanding meal.We went post-show and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great
wine list of small producers, staff was knowledgeable about the wines and how
they might pair with the meal.
The atmosphere is awesome and reminiscent of a lounge. There’s one huge screen
playing KPop music videos and a few smaller ones airing sports games. We came
with a huge group and ordered one of everything off the menu.
Excellent food, excellent service!
Chef Ken is a true gentleman and Southern hospitality lives here in Mount Airy!
Taking advantage of the last “nice” weekend of the year, we chose to take a
trip up to Philly to see the sights again and, since it was cool out, to
deviate from the usual Philly routine (historical sites, Chinatown, historical
sites), to eat at City Tavern.
Coming from a Polish family in New Jersey, pierogies have always been a staple
at our Xmas eve dinners. My grandparents would buy them from the polish ladies
who made them in the church basement, and our meal would also include some
kielbasa from the butcher, and home made stuffed cabbage. In a recent year,
the church basement had water damage, and the pierogie making equipment was
compromised, and we went elsewhere… and they were not the same. I learned
that it’s hard to produce…
The owner Bill was very accommodating in terms of getting my wife and me seated
to wait for the six people in our party (which is not the norm here).
