There are also a lot of things to like about the place, though. The ricotta
blueberry pancakes are delicious and huge. The bacon is perfectly cooked. The
omlettes are amazing. The service, while sometimes slow, is friendly. The owner
is always there, friendly and chatting up his customers. The price is fair. The
potatoes, while not hashbrowns, are still tasty.
I couldn’t stop smiling when I got my plate of Al Sharpton. The chicken was
extra crispy on the outside but very juicy and tender on the inside. The waffle
was thick & fluffy, just the way I like it. The cornbread was to die for, I
asked for seconds. I just couldn’t stop smiling. I just couldn’t.
We were walking sightseeing and came upon this establishment so we decided to
try it out. The food turned out to be pretty good. We will return again when
we’re back in Savannah.
Most importantly though….. they have the best King Cakes in town. When
Carnival starts I buy and deliver King Cakes to my best clients and Ann’s is
much better at King Cakes than that “other bakery” in the neighborhood.
Wonderful fillings and they even look great. On Mardi Gras we still have one
brought in from S. Louisiana, but Ann’s is as good as it gets locally!
**Baiz Market** is a combination between a multinational food market, a
Lebanese restaurant, and a sweet and a pita bread factory.
Got clued in to this place by a coworker of mine, many moons ago, and have to
admit I was surprised by how good it was. I believe this small place has been
through a couple iterations as other bakeries, but in its current incarnation
as the Balkan Bakery, it has apparently been doing well for a number of years
now.
A friend of mine who is a local picked this place as our fancy dinner night out
with the wives. What a wonderful pick it was!
We love this place! The food is good, very unique, and the employees (family)
are super friendly.
It’s been years since we lived in Milwaukee, but I assume Benji’s is still the
best Jewish deli (is there any other kind?) in the city. But, this is more
about corned beef in the Midwest than just particular to Benji’s.
OK. first thing! you think is just bbq but when you see the menu WOW they have
mexican food and not just any mexican food i mean i am mexican n im tired of
just tacos, burritos, etc the comun thing ugh! NO this guys know whats up they
have pollo en mole, chiles rellenos, COCHINITA PIBIL!!!, enchiladas suizas gosh
i just got hungry to think about them! LOL but of course they still have the
bbq ribs so dont think is no more bbq anymore they just were smart n made a
fusion.
I went to Bill’s today to celebrate after a morning of cleaning out the garden.
A hearty hamburger seemed to be the way to go. I ordered a Big Red with
cheese and bacon. Outstanding. It’s always great to sit in a small, family-run
joint and watch my food being prepared. Saturday is a slow business day, but
the staff are experts.
Bob & Timmy’s was pleasantly surprising. We had the GQ famed Spinach and
Mushroom pizza. The crust was perfectly grilled and chewy, the spinach was
fresh and there was SO MUCH feta! Paired with a Peroni beer, I was as happy as
a pig in sh*t!
Huge selection of burgers. Everyone at our table got something different and
were all pleased with what they got.
Recent poor service. I’m pretty easy going. They did not want to be at work.
The place had out of season decor. I felt robbed after eating there. mIght want
to try it since they probably won’t be in business long.
We love Cincinnati Chili and Skyline has always been the top of the
list…until now.
What Campi’s lacks in charm, well, it lacks in charm. Virtually unchanged since
the 70’s, they have made a business out of supplying Rochesterians with Bomber
steak sandwiches and Mama burgers. Not to be out done by the plate houses, they
also make a “Sloppy Plate” that stands up tot he best of them.
I love the atmosphere in this place, exactly what you would expect from a bar
down the street from the packers. Food and service were great. Will be a must
when I’m in town.
Chili John’s has been proudly serving Burbank’s motley characters for 65 years.
Today, it is one of the oldest continuously running restaurants in Burbank,
California.
Ribs fall off the bone. Brisket tender and tasty, sides a let down, beans taste
as if straight from a can, potatoe salad below par. It is a pity that the sides
are not as tasty as the meat. Good value, generous portions.
Really enjoyed our meal here in Vinita, OK. Just a short hop from NW Arkansas &
worth the drive. Ordered desert first since we just couldn’t wait & got
chocolate cream pie (YUM!) & coconut cream pie (double YUM!) & then we ordered
dinner! Got the chicken fried steak & it was just delicious! Even though they
were really busy, the waitress & helpful servers & busboy were just the
warmest, friendliest people you’d ever want to meet. Made us want to move there…
