Came here on my last day of vacation. I had the strongest G&T ever. So strong
it was actually warm going down. If you are looking for the stiffest of the
stiff in drinks look no further.
What a bustling and fun place! I went here with my familia for dinner and we
had a great time.
Their veal and peppers are legendary….moist, tender and flavorful. It
comes with no sides, so you have to order pasta, potatoes, etc…. Their
salad is not a good choice….a few lettuce leaves with 1-2 olives, 1-2
tomatoes….lots of water at the bottom of the bowl….go with the pasta or
fries.
Opening a restaurant called Bacon would have been brilliant and innovative 15
years ago- now it’s as if the designers got together and said, “How do we build
a restaurant that is guaranteed to be featured on the Food Network?”
I arrived at Beaver’s with two friends on Sunday about a week ago for dinner.
We wanted to sit on the patio, but had to go inside first to speak with the
server, who then took us out to the patio and said we’d be helped soon.
Ya know that movie Beerfest? KC tried to watch it on HBO with some girl he was
“dating” but we chose to have Sexfest instead. Later on, he actually watched
it. How it didn’t win an Oscar, KC will never know. (KC should have also won an
Oscar for his sexing of that girl but we’ll get to that another time)
Growing up outside of NYC, I’ve sampled some great sandwiches at a variety of
NYC delis; however, one of the most delicious sandwich experiences I’ve had is
at a small shop nestled in the heart of Brookline.
My husband, daughter and I visited here for a late lunch in the middle of the
week. We saw it had been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food
Network and wanted an excuse to check out Annapolis.
We experienced our first taste of Southern hospitality here at Dixie Supply
Bakery and Cafe. We ordered and paid for our order of Shrimp and Grits. Then
it was realized that they were out of shrimps. So instead of cancelling our
order (which would have been understandable), they quickly found a way to get
more and got our order to us in less than 30 minutes! This great service is
not something I’m used to out in here California.
Went to El Real last night. The place was super busy, however the service was
still strong. Ordered fajitas. They were a bit more expensive than you’d pay
for fajitas at any other tex-mex place. However, you do get improved
value-for-money to the point where it’s still a good deal. The free chips and
salsa were good as well, tho I would have liked to seen a green sauce along
with the red. The fajitas came out sizzling, so the timing was good. Also
came with a very interesting…
Great “home cooked” like your mom would make (if she were mexican). Taco
truck/stand in parking lot of neighborhood laundromat. If your lucky enough to
be there when the ghetto ice cream van drives by, u got yourself some desert
too.
AMAZING!! We went on a Wednesday and made that grandma sweat! We were a big
group so we got to try a lot of different appetizers and dishes- pretty much
all of them were a hit! The lamb testicle sausages, the oxtail, the grilled
artichoke, the lamb hearts, the conch salad, the veal sausage- even the sheep’s
face! Really, there were no losers that night!
Tucked away in the heights my boyfriend and I were looking for a place one day
that offered macaroons. I’ve always wanted to try these delights since they are
so popular on the west coast.

Stopped by to pick up some dinners to take to my parents’ house. We ordered
four plates: teri furikake salmon, ahi belly, fried poke, and smoked meat with
onions.
This is the first time I have been back since the renovation, and I have to say
that the atmosphere is much better. There is so much less clutter, and seems
much more clean, and spacious. Were were seated right away, and our server was
very friendly.
Let’s not forget the sides. Their crispy, natural cut fries are highly
addictive. Especially when dipped in the garlic aioli. If you’re hankering for
some comforting pasta, the Truffle Mac & Cheese is a must-try item.
“The burger is so moist it’s not like you have to chew!” That is literally what
a friend said when she finished her burger.
The ‘regular’ burgers are full of flavor and are not dried out. They’re so
good, a friend and I challenged ourselves to a 5 patty cheese burger with
fries. Even then, the burgers were cooked perfectly and still full of flavor.
The fries are done just right and could eat them all day long.
This place beats most, if not all of the Italian restaurants in the North End.
Coming in on a Saturday around 2, the place was full but we were able to get a
table for 5 right away.
