Are you kidding me? I don’t care about the flies flying around me. I don’t
care that it took almost 20 minutes for the food to come to the table. This
place rocks, and it’s all because of the owner/cook.
Don’t let the looks of this place fool you. This is what I like to call the
classic “hole in the wall” diner. It’s a very old building, very small and
usually packed.
The best oyster po’boy in town. Don’t bother with the Kaboom Box (try other
stuff from there). It’s the only food cart I’d walk all over the downtown core
in search of when I’m having a seafood po’boy craving. And everyone knows how
much I despise walking in heels. Bonus the gentlemen at FLW are great.
This place really rings my bells! Good drinks, great food, and a killer
dog-friendly patio. It was also featured on Triple D. On a nice day it doesn’t
get much better than this.
I tried the two products they featured on the show: the hot dog (with chili
etc.) and the Coney Island burger. Both were pretty good. Also, they crank them
out VERY quickly, so if you decide you want one more hot dog, your friends
won’t get mad at you for forcing them to wait. It’s also very affordable.
Been living here for almost 1.5 years. This place is the THE BEST. The first
really amazing thing about this place is that it is not as crowded as it should
be. San Pedro is a hike into san Pedro. There is no real easy access of the
405. You have to plan to go there and HIKE into it. So amazing once you do
though. This place is really astoundingly good.

I’ve been here a few times - not just for the restaurant but also the bar. The
restaurant is outstanding - I’ve never been disappointed with a meal here. The
shepherds pie wraps are incredible as are the beer battered oysters.
Genuine Belizean cuisine like Rice and Beans, Sere, Panades, Stewed Chicken,

We had been meaning to try this diner for quite some time and found ourselves
driving past when they only had about 40 minutes to closing. We asked if it was
too late to order and dine in – not at all, come right in, they said.
I had dinner here last night and needless to say I was highly impressed. The
food was perfect. The restaurant was small but very inviting and the staff was
friendly and professional.
The general store used to be a post office, converted into a general store, and
later evolved into one of the best breakfast spots in the country. Their
cuisine earned national fame on Food Network’s “Diners Drive Ins and Dives.” I
couldn’t overlook this cultural landmark.
Fantastic, best dinner in Cape May this trip. First, portions are ample, but
don’t let that deter you from trying different dishes. We had spanikopata and
the falafel crostini to start.
Georgia Kazakos and her extended family have been involved in the restaurant
business for 35 years.
I loved my meal at Geraci’s, but there are a few improvements that can be made.
First of all, the place is absolutely tiny! There was a long wait, which is
fine, but there’s basically no room to actually sit and wait. The tables are
so close together, I felt like I was eating with a bunch of strangers. Also,
there’s no hostess station so you have to make sure you catch the guy taking
names so other people don’t just ahead of you in line.
That said, Germaine’s was pretty good, they definitely seemed to be sincerely
into it, and its much easier to enjoy yourself when the performers are clearly
having a good time.
I absolutely love places that use local ingredients and allows the fresh foods
speak for themselves. We had heard about this place from Triple-D and wanted to
try it while in Norfolk. The meatloaf was amazing and so rich and flavorful.
This place makes me happy. I love the purity of it. Its a super small place,
nestled in a retail center next to a water and ice store. The same staff is
always there, including the owner. Service is typically straight forward and
gets the job done.
Hadn’t been to Giusti’s in years. Went down to the Delta to visit friends who
tied up at Giusti’s dock last night and walked across the levee for dinner.
Had a few drinks then sat down for dinner. Owner Mark sat down and chatted
with us briefly. Totally hands-on, family operation. Bleu cheese filet was
phenomenal. Great fun.
When you are planning to spend the day “small business shopping” (read, hop
around left and right like a crazed monkey with a closet problem), you want to
fuel properly beforehand.
Glenn’s Diner seemed like a logical option, central to our shopping area with
an old-school feel that I was really craving at the beginning of this holiday
season.
