I’ve been going to Chuck’s for over 10 years. Recently, I’ve been hooked on the
cochinita pibil, which i believe is only served on Saturday/weekends. Tender
meat, tangy pickled onions (I’m not normally an onion fan), refried black
beans, tortillas. My only criticism is that the rice that comes with it is
decent, but not great.
The customer service was great also. Everyone greated me with a friendly smile
and was very attentive to me and everyone that was eating tat the bar. The
decor was also pleasant.
I used to like this more back in the day a lot more, back when not everyone and
there mother knew it existed…thanks to the wedding party held here by Kid
Rock and Pamela Anderson… They revamped an old white church, kept the pews
as seating and the bingo signage and turned it into a great restaurant.
Southern cooking at it’s finest. Oh, and I am a big fan of the bar here… I
ordered a whiskey ginger and got about a 3⁄4 glass full of whiskey… yummmm.
Very pleasant – our server was really friendly and laid back. And don’t
forget, it’s cash or local check only!
Super good. Vibe is perfect. Unfortunately only made it up there twice during
the few years I lived in DC. Was pretty long hike from SE, but worth it both
times.
An afternoon event in Manchester brought me to Corey’s today with some time and
an empty belly to fill. It met both needs quite admirably, and made me think
that if I lived in Manchester, this would be a likely place to turn up and meet
friends at the end of the day.
The first time I went here was right after Texas Monthly released its infamous
50 Best Burgers in Texas article. I happened to be living in Dallas in late
2009, so I went to The Grape, their #1, and while it was an unquestionably
great burger it left me wanting more. Surely Austin could do better, in burgers
as in all things.
Nothing tests my will more than trying a uniquely southern American delicacy in
the most northern of American places. I’ve had biscuits and gravy near Santa’s
house yo!
This bar is so unusual. First off, it’s in a completely residential area.
Second, it’s extremely unassuming from the outside. But oh man when you get
inside…
I love Crazy Burger. I love it mostly because it’s somewhere where everyone can
go, no matter what your dietary restrictions, and enjoy it. Casual, laid back,
hippy vibe with an eye for fresh food. Also, they pay special care to food
preparation for Vegan/Vegetarian diners.
I never thought an ice cream shop would make ice cream so good that I would pay
a weekly visit… with the excuse of rewarding myself after a hard day of
study.
Trying to be chronological here and starting with finding the location …
potentially very hard as it’s hidden behind a gas station and not really
visible from the street. I live about 2 miles away so am familiar but can see
how it would be a problem if one wasn’t.
Ok, we used the rest of that gift certificate today. I got two appetizers for
an early dinner: The Portabella and Crab and The Mediterranean Quesadilla, both
of which were beyond delicious.
I’m giving Culhane’s 5 stars as it just excels as what it is. A family run,
casual, comfortable, fun Irish pub with reasonable prices and surprisingly good
food. While I wouldn’t say Culhane’s is terrific at any one thing, it is the
whole package, and overall the extremely friendly service and atmosphere, that
wins the day.
I am not a huge burger person, but I am hooked on DMK. If you’re looking for a
spot for some awesome burgers and brews, dmk is the place. Not only do they
have great burgers, they have an extensive list of craft beers, and their fries
are delicious. My girlfriend & I always go and split the truffle fries &
wisconsin cheese fries. They’re both so good we can never settle on just one
kind.
Homemade food with an outdoor dining area and friendly wait staff. Prices were
fair, and portions were perfect. Came for brunch on Sunday and it wasn’t too
busy. They have a diverse menu but I ultimately settled on my fave: chicken
fried steak. The white gravy was delish with herbs, but the steak was dry and
overcooked in my opinion. I wouldn’t order it again.
Daddypops is the biz! Great old-fashioned inside and homemade old-fashioned
food. Crowded but worth the wait!
My oldest daughter had a regular cheese burger…it was demolished in a few
minutes, and my youngest daughter (4) had a Virginia ham sandwich on white
bread…it was stacked high and she couldn’t finish even 1⁄2 of it.
Great local mom and pop drive-in that offers more than you would expect
including great fired chicken and some unbelievably good Italian dishes. You
have to taste it to believe it but I would put their red sauce (gravy) right up
there with the best.
