I like breakfast, but it’s really tough to find a great place to eat the most important meal of the day. Cafe 222 does a pretty good job though. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table on a Saturday morning, not a big deal when it’s 68 and sunny out. Which I guess is all the time? Plus, there’s a little coffee station you can use while you wait, making for a far less cranky pre-dining experience.

Came here just for the corn…the restaurant next door is where you dine in and this one is mainly for the corn. Me and the bf got 2 roasted corn for about $5 and some change. The corn was a good size and it had this crusty cheese on it with some other spices and when melted the crusty cheese melted and it tasted like butter…totally melts in your mouth! It also goes great with fresh squeeze lime!

This was definitely one of those nights when all caution would be thrown to the wind. And by that, I mean we ordered a bottle of champagne and a souffle. The souffle Grand Marnier to be exact. Watching your carbs, sugar, and cholesterol? Get outta here! Life’s too short.

I must admit I was skeptical of this place at first, but having driven by so many times the catchy name stuck in my head. So tonight when I was craving Indian I realized I hadn’t eaten a thing all day. I knew I had less than an hour to grab something and get to class, took a peek at a few fellow yelper reviews, and without a look back pointed my mustang toward Curry in a Hurry.

I was in town for a friend’s birthday and knew I had to get doughnuts from this joint as her treat. She has tried to go so many times, but keeps missing it. They sell out fast! …or she goes to work late. ;)

Girl & the Goat has been serving fun foods, craft beers, and making wine in a rustic and bad ass environment since summer 2010. The restaurant opens at 4:30 every day, and stays open until 11pm on weeknights and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (until those last late night eaters scrape their fork across the plate for the last time, or finish licking their plates until they’re shiny and clean). The Goat’s menu is divided into three categories: Vegetable, Fish, and of…

After walking up Halsted searching for a place to kill a couple of hours before continuing my journey out of state and only seeing one lame bar after the other, I figured I might as well walk the four blocks back and save myself from more disappointment.
