Since 2005, Ashmont Grill has brought a cup-full of culinary cheer to Dorchester’s Peabody Square with its wallet-friendly menu of modern tavern cuisine, from grilled local bluefish or braised short rib with farm vegetables, to lighter fare like the chef’s charcuterie board or grass-fed burgers. Smiling staff, creative cocktails and homey desserts baked daily, like our Sticky Toffee Pudding (featured on Food Network), make this a must-try destination in the city.

We are obsessed with the concept that our wedding and special occasion cakes taste as good as they look (if not better). Needless to say, we make all of them with one (or two) of our signature cake batters – then build from there by suggesting fillings and frostings to match. Then we work with each client to customize a look. You can find some of our previous designs in the Gallery. We encourage, however, to let your imagination be your guide.

Daddy's Fried won't let you down. My friend was denied of fried dough for one year. "For tourists. Gross. It's just a street vendor. You don't want that," our friend and host in Boston told him a year ago

Would I ever wait over an hour for this snowball in such heat? Probably not. But if I'm ever in the area, I would pass by to see where the line is. This is my favorite snow ball place, EVER. I was born and raised in NOLA and this is the best place for a cool treat, any day.

There is a story about the Duke of Edinburough, the Queen's husband, visiting a small town in northern Canada. During the royal visit he had lunch at the local diner. He was accompanied by his entourage and members of the local and national press who crowded into the adjacent booths and tables. It is easy to imagine the attention lavished on a British Monarch dining at the local establishment. Of course all eyes were on the royal booth when the restaurant’s proprietress came to the table to clear the plates and while gently lifting it from his plate, smiled warmly, and advised “Keep your fork Duke, there’s pie.”

We got the waffle w/ ice cream and the shaved ice. I can't decide which one was worse - they both tasted like fruity pebbles. Halfway through eating it, I felt like a zombie eating a plate of brains (thanks to all the red food coloring). While that might be a plus to some customers..it was very unappealing to me.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Mike runs a super restaurant that has been frozen in time. It's a hangout for the Fort Worth Police chiefs and captains. I'd feel really sorry for anyone stupid enough to try and rob the place. At anyone time I am sure there are several detectives and undercover police eating there.
