Diners Drive-Ins and Dives
So amazing. Love the oven fried chicken, the cornbread was phenomenal, the
fried okra and mac and cheese were awesome.
This week’s “Loving Island Life” Blog features The Madison Diner on Bainbridge
Island. One of my favorite things to do after a morning walk or run is to head
out for a REAL breakfast.
Hubs and I headed out here after reading about all the rave and I can tell you,
this place is legit. The portions are large, the peeled gralic shrimp was a
huge hit and my husband had the short ribs that were AMAZING!
Bizzarro would be the quirky best friend with the zany personality and the
novelty hair.
Known for dive bar with the best wings in new england!
Cheddar Beer Soup Friday Fish Fry (Which is huge) Irish Fillet (Steak with a
Jameson Whiskey Sauce)
The Brunswick stew is the best I have ever had, awesome. Shrimp and grits is
great. The special of braised short rib was excellent, really. We have eaten
here twice and each trip has been well worth it.
Stopped in for lunch and was very pleased with our choice. All 3 lunches were
very good; fried chicken (blue plate special on Wed, caeser’s with shrimp, and
catfish & shrimp plate with hush puppies were all great. Prices were
reasonable and service friendly and quick.
Known for Cincinnati style chili. Overstuffed sandwiches.
My friends and I got tired of the same old bars/clubs and just wanted a place
to hang, chill and relax. It dawned on me as our Dragon Boat goes to Oleta
River Park, we always end with a beer and some chill time from Blue Marlin.
Want to find a breakfast place that’s worth waiting in line for? Blue Moon
Cafe is yours. I was lucky to show up one morning to find the restaurant sans
line and sans delay, so your experiences may vary.
Went on a Saturday night as a party of two and the wait was about a half hour
and even managed to score a seat outside. (I like that they had mini fans on
the ceiling of the exterior that faced each of the tables.) The place has a fun
vibe, very cool art and an extremely nice and helpful staff.
I was skeptical when I saw this place on Diner, Drive-In’s, and Dives. Usually
the restaurants on these shows are overrated. This is not one of them.
Probably the best meal deal in Miami.
All the dishes are amazing! Best to go with three or four people.
Everything on menu is made fresh here! Way to go!
First of all, there is just someting to be said for crazy friendly people. The
hostess, our waitress, the bus-girl- all incredibly nice people who left me
feeling good. That alone will make me come back to 3 Sisters.
I saw this on Diners Drive-thrus and Dives while I was in KC and I just had to
check them out. This place is amazing and yes, the food is well decadent. Let’s
put it that way. I was not dissapointed at all with the service or the food. I
would have given them 3.5 stars, but that’s not an option. Only because the
food is like carnival food, it’s only for special occasions or you will find
yourself gaining lots of weight.
Awesome brunch spot in Berkeley. I’ve tried to eat here before but it was
either closed or the wait was too long. But this past Saturday, went randomly
on a rainy morning and we were seated in less than 10 minutes!
The food is excellent and the service was superb. I had the gumbo and would
love to try some of the other specials someday. A Diner, Drive-ins and Dives
location.
One of the BEST Mediterranean restaurants I have tried so far!!!!! Me and my
husband went there on a weekend late night when we both were craving some good
kebabs….and it definitely did not disappoint.
Al’s Breakfast has been a Dinkytown staple since the 1950s. It’s changed hands
a few times since, but has kept the same down-home vibe and many of the
original recipes. It’s been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and has
even won a James Beard award in 2004 in the “America’s Classics Restaurants”
category. Cool, huh? I started going to Al’s when I was a freshman in college
and have enjoyed the classic breakfast joint ever since.
