HRD is my go to place whenever I’m feeling indecisive. This place is known for
their KimChi Burritos and probably the Mongolian Cheesesteak. Just perfect
blends of Korean/American/Fusiony goodness. The Ben’s Famous Scramble with BBQ
Pork is also one of my faves.
Each Hackney’s Restaurant has its own unique personality and charm.
Great place - this is the 2nd time and both times were excellent. My friend
told me that the Chef/Owner was the Chef at John Ash and Company for many many
years. I think he makes great food - I might be able to make it at my house but
that’s the whole point of going out isn’t it.
I stopped in while driving through town and I had such a wonderful lunch with a
sandwich and soup. Ordering is done at the counter and the food is brought out
when it is ready. The menu offers a lot of variety for lunch and breakfast, but
is still relatively simple. Don’t miss the soup selection listed on a little
board on the counter; you must try one of the house-made specialties.

Cinnamon Rolls and their breakfast specials were amazing.
My family has been going to Harvey’s Hot Dogs ever since I was a little kid. In
fact, my mother and Harvey went to high school together, we’ve pretty much
always known him. I know that he is leaving Harvey’s Hot Dogs soon and I am not
sure if it is going to stay the same place but I’m going to put in my two cents
anyway.
Old World charm finds a place in Historic Downtown Glendale
So let’s remember that the purpose of DDD is to find great “D”ives, and this is
one! The main seating area is outside, the food is made in a food truck, the
bar and restrooms are in a small building next to it all…it has all the
makings of a dive.
This place is a hidden gem! I would have given this place 3 to 4 stars for the
food, but the view cannot be beat, especially for lunch! Seating can be
limited, but the indoor counter has an amazing view of the ocean that those
seats are worth waiting for!
On our way from Florida to New England and found this place on Diners Driveins
and Dives and so glad we didnt listen to some of these reviews on Yelp. Our
breakfast was great the hash was awesome and our server was very attentive.
First and only time here this past November. Seating is nothing too fancy,
really casual spot but really, most of Hawaii is like that–come in slippers
shorts and a shirt wahhtevahs.
We took a little drive after seeing this on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. There
was a little bit of a wait, but the atmosphere of the diner is great in that it
has that old, classic diner feel to it.
Tried the Scotch egg as per a locals recommendations. Think deep fried egg,
rapped in meat served with mustard. Different and a good experience, but no
thanks in the future.
Its a traditional breakfast eatery. Used to live in Bankers and these guys have
always got the job done..They serve good breakfast, have friendly servers, and
just remodeled the joint. Its pretty legit–great job on the makeover! Don’t be
surprised if you hear someone say “we’ve been eating here since 1962 sunny”…
No one said that to me, but I’m not giving up hope..
FREE Burger if you come in with your id on your birthday! Once went in with my
mom on my birthday (Oct 28) and since hers was the day Oct 27, we both got free
meals.
If you go on the weekends, you might experience up to an hour and a half wait.
Hopefully it’s not in the rain… like mine was. There’s little shelter outside
and no waiting room inside besides a small bench to the side.
The minute I walked in I knew I loved this place. Quirky eclectic folk art (if
you know Lucky Platter in Evanston, imagine that with a Western theme), and a
long vintage bar leading to a stage in the back of the room… a perfect place
for sipping whiskey after a hard day of work.
Hopleaf is the best bar I’ve been to in Chicago, period. Let’s start with the
beer. It’s a bar, after all. The beer selection is large and excellent: my
wife loves Belgians and I’m a big fan of saisons and IPAs, so we can always
find something new and fun to try.
