Man v. Food
This place is amazing. Worth the line and the price. The sauce had a little
more kick to it, and even without ordering extra sauce (which I typically do) -
I was really impressed by how it all worked very well together. The meat was
juicy and well spiced, everything was fresh and it was HUGE. Huge enough that
I couldn’t finish it and my car smelled like old Gyro’s for a couple of days
(c’mon…you can’t just throw it out!).
James Beard award winning pan fried chicken? I had to try this. It is a little
bit out of the way, and if you go at night, it can be challenging to get there,
but it’s award winning chicken!
I love the chicken & broccoli boli. Switch out that cheese for some Americana
or cheddar. And get the potachoes, with the hot sauce on the size. The
potachoes are so good. it’s always a good time at Stuff Yer Face. Mhmm!
I found Sweet P’s Barbeque last year, with some friends on the way back from
Townsend. It left such an impression that I felt the need to seek it out
during the 46 hours I was in Ktown this year.
“Cute & cheap. I’ll take one of everything! Some of the reviews mention Anna
Belen being expensive but most of what I saw was $1.80.
We had 7 people. Four of us were vegetarian. Black bean chili, Hungarian
mushroom soup and Mac and cheese were excellent!
The BEST taqueria in San Francisco. The original & still the BEST. Best corn
tortillas, best beans, best horchata & best carne asada.
“I’ve had a few good experiences here, and am certainly happy to return. Tools
does have happy hour, though you’ll need to ask your bartender for details;
it’s never really been advertised or touted when i was there.
This is the place I always bring people to if it’s the summertime and they are
not from New England. It feels like a New England clambake which goes on every
day - all summer long.
I must thank the Yelpers who laid the groundwork to help me find this
place…you did NOT steer me wrong.
We ordered the “Westport” mixed seafood for two. The crabs were cooked just
right. Not under not over. Of course that was the first thing we dug into.
Clams, Oysters, Shrimp were good as well. Nothing over or under cooked. The
wait staff were very helpful and quick. Not too busy…The Widmer Hef is a
great choice to drink…a bit citrus and sweet with some fuzz going down hit
the spot.
Shack.. literally a shack… with unique fixtures and random items hung from
the ceiling and on the walls.
Seriously, what’s up with the bad reviews? There is a reason this place has
stayed in business for 70 years. To the person who claims it’s just like any
other hot dog in the south, clearly your an idiot with no taste buds and if you
like Yankee dogs so much, then please by all means get yourself a bus ticket
and go have one, otherwise stop complaining and get a life. No offense to those
from the North :)
Oh my lordy. What an experience! I’m not that much of a meat-eater but these
sweet smoky glazed pork ribs brought out my inner hyena. Fingers were sticky,
words turned into snarls, hot BBQ sauce was slopped…I had to remember to take
a breath between each mouthful. I even found myself picking meat scraps off my
friends Beef Ribs, just to savor that TASTE. Don’t judge me.
Workmates & I visited the Silo for lunch on a typically BEAUTIFUL Buffalo
summer day. The breezes off the river were phenomenal and the the view was
equally amazing. A+++ for location.
Oh sweet tater tots this place rocks. The decor is just enough raunchy and just
enough cool to entertain men and women both. I loved the snarky attitude of the
menu..they have rules and it’s awesome that a business is confident in saying
that the customer is NOT always right.
One of the first DDD joints that I noticed for St Louis was Iron Barley. We
finally made it here with our dining partners, the D’s. We had had a taste of
some of their handiwork at the latest Microbrew Fest at Forest Park when they
served food in the tent. I had some smoky grilled pork loin that was just
excellent.
Alright alright. Yes, the reason I came to Jack-n-Grill was because I saw it on
Man vs. Food. Back off already. Did it live up to the hype? It sure did.
Honestly I was oblivious that Mr. Richman fought against food at Jethro’s.
Spoiler alert x], but I found out that Jethro won, with picture proof of the
results posted right after the entrance to this sports-oriented, Iowan BBQ
“pit.”
On my first visit, As I entered this eatery I noticed this place was no bigger
than a voting booth [a slight exaggeration ]. There was no place to sit unless
you got here once this placed opened at 7:00 in the morning and even then you
don’t dare leave your seat.
