The Best Thing I Ever Ate
A nice little spot to have breakfast or lunch, this bakery is known primarily
for their bakery. However, their food items are nothing to sneeze at. My buddy
and I both had the BLT with a side of tomato soup.
My previous mediocre experience in 2007 was rectified December 2012. Service
was topnotch. Food consistently excellent across 4 courses and numerous
glasses of wine.
The Bove family have been making and serving unpretentious and delicious food
at their Pearl Street location since the day Pearl Harbor was attacked. And
it’s still good.
The month before last was Bradley Ogden’s last at Caesars. Todd Williams has
enamored me with his food for the better half of the last decade from my
frequent trips to Vegas and for all of the culinary standouts along the strip,
I’m saddest to see Bradley Ogden go.
They are such sweet and friendly people! I never knew maple syrup could be used
for so many things- candy, ice cream, and popcorn to name a few. The maple
creemee was amazing, as were the rest of the things we sampled. It’s expensive
but it’s good to support a farmer. I was always happy with Aunt Jemima until I
came here. Now that I’ve tasted the real stuff, I never want anything else
again!
It’s been here for years, and the staff is always courteous and food always
fresh and plenty of choices.
Strawberry and Peaches&Cream are my favorites, respectively. Creamy, fresh, and
not too sweet. Usually I go to the Brooklyn Bridge location, but this one is
really quaint. Nothing much in the neighborhood, but if you walk a few blocks
down to the center of Greenpoint, there’s a bunch of great Polish restaurants.
I had the pleasure of hosting my son’s wedding reception dinner recently. I
shopped around at quite a few restaurants and found most party menus to be
unimaginative and over priced. A friend of mine who is well versed in good
food, gave a strong recommendation to try Bucci’s in Berea.
The food is good here, but it’s nothing wow. If you don’t want to valet you can
park on the side of the street. Just be careful cuz alot of cars pass by fast.
It’s a shame there is only 5 stars because the amount of stars I would give
this place, I could walk the Hollywood walk if fame.
Buena Vista is famous for their Irish Coffee and for good reason. It’s not
JUST an Irish coffee, it’s an experience. (I didn’t try any food during my
visit so this review is based solely on the Irish coffee).
What? A gigantic burrito the size of a child’s head made with freshly grilled
steak that was made right in front of me that costs about 7 bucks and can be
split amongst 2 people and STILL be filling? Count me in!!
Amazing, but what else would you expect from the only ‘ice cream’ (this is
gelato) place on Jonathan Gold’s 99?
YUM! I love some good cupcakes and when I say good - I mean good. This place is
AWESOME.
Delish chowda! Spoon stands straight up! Stick of butter in a bowl, just
yummy. Also had the broiled scallops, baked and squash. Topping was slightly
dark, but flavor was good.
I like breakfast, but it’s really tough to find a great place to eat the most
important meal of the day. Cafe 222 does a pretty good job though. We had to
wait about 15 minutes for a table on a Saturday morning, not a big deal when
it’s 68 and sunny out. Which I guess is all the time? Plus, there’s a little
coffee station you can use while you wait, making for a far less cranky
pre-dining experience.
There are great memories at this cafe for me, after an acquaintance introduced
me to this petite Alice Waters space.
Came here just for the corn…the restaurant next door is where you dine in and
this one is mainly for the corn. Me and the bf got 2 roasted corn for about $5
and some change. The corn was a good size and it had this crusty cheese on it
with some other spices and when melted the crusty cheese melted and it tasted
like butter…totally melts in your mouth! It also goes great with fresh
squeeze lime!
This was definitely one of those nights when all caution would be thrown to the
wind. And by that, I mean we ordered a bottle of champagne and a souffle. The
souffle Grand Marnier to be exact. Watching your carbs, sugar, and cholesterol?
Get outta here! Life’s too short.
The cab they recommended was definitely good. Decently priced, too. It was
full-bodied and had strong berry aroma.
