We just love this place! They serve Salvadorian and Mexican food. I prefer the
Salvadorian food. The food is delicious and fresh. We enjoy the pupusas
(loroco and revuelta). The siete mares soup is really good too. The servings
are large.
The big fluffy waffle in the shape of a flower tasted more like something
straight out of a bakery vs. a dive. The home fries were hot & crispy. It’s
worth the extra pennies to add fresh onions & peppers. The biscuits & gravy
were delicious and I am super picky when it comes to that dish. My only minor
complaint was our breakfast was served warm, not hot.
Stuffed with Bleu Cheese, On a Brioche Bun with mixed Sweet/White Potato Fries
Crazy awesome burgers! Always busy, but always great. Parking can be nuts on
weekends, it is a roadtrip stop off for everyone going up north or coming back
south.
We have been cooking so much lately that when we do eat out we tend to try to
figure out how to make it ourselves, but 1) I couldn’t figure out the spices
(not too sweet or not corn syrupy-tasting, not too spicy) and 2) I didn’t want
to! I just want to find excuses to go to Pacifica every weekend now so we can
get some more. Next time, definitely the 3-meat platter.
Very diner feel (sticky menu and all). Great traditional food. They keep the
breakfast item concentrated to classics which suits them perfectly.
I told the waiter that I wanted an eggplant salad sandwich – then changed my
order about four more times in the next five minutes because indecision is my
worst quality.
My bf and I went here after we were turned down at the Barton Springs Saloon
next door, and were warmly welcomed. Our waiter ( I wish I could remember his
name) was great; fast, friendly and to the point. We both got bbq pulled pork
sandwiches with fries and tater salad. Very relaxed and casual atmosphere.
Serving up some of the best pizza, original sandwiches, fresh salads and cold
beer.
Nothing and I mean nothing in Canada can compare to what Grover’s offers. I am
not sure if it a US/Canada thing but I find restaurants such as this scattered
across the US who offer great value for your money.
My dude is a fan of the Portuguese pork chops and beer and I’m perfectly happy
with just about anything on the menu. The specials board always has more than a
few enticing options and the dessert portions are nicely generous.
I had the flying pig, which just by namesake is phenomenal. The dish braised
pork, some fried garlic, with a “one hour” egg (similar to a poached egg but
not as runny), and covered in sirachha over rice. Just delicious. Soft pork
mixed with the yolk of the egg melts in your mouth with some hearty rice,
couldn’t be better.
An appropriate (if not exactly recommended) response to this might be that you
take a tentative sip, contemplate the questionable nature of the mouthful, and
then level your judgment.

HRD is my go to place whenever I’m feeling indecisive. This place is known for
their KimChi Burritos and probably the Mongolian Cheesesteak. Just perfect
blends of Korean/American/Fusiony goodness. The Ben’s Famous Scramble with BBQ
Pork is also one of my faves.
Each Hackney’s Restaurant has its own unique personality and charm.
Great place - this is the 2nd time and both times were excellent. My friend
told me that the Chef/Owner was the Chef at John Ash and Company for many many
years. I think he makes great food - I might be able to make it at my house but
that’s the whole point of going out isn’t it.
I stopped in while driving through town and I had such a wonderful lunch with a
sandwich and soup. Ordering is done at the counter and the food is brought out
when it is ready. The menu offers a lot of variety for lunch and breakfast, but
is still relatively simple. Don’t miss the soup selection listed on a little
board on the counter; you must try one of the house-made specialties.
