Do yourself a favor and avoid going here to sit down and eat. The place is too small, it's always packed with people, and it's very dirty. So in order to avoid all that, call ahead, pick up your sandwiches and go to the park and have your Cuban lunch.

Very few restaurants have foods with flavors so distinctive and unique that they are featured as one of Esquire magazine’s current picks for best sandwiches in America. Only one, Al’s Beef, offers its customers Chicago’s and America’s #1 Italian beef sandwich, the one and only, the authentic sandwich invented 70 years ago at the now legendary Taylor Street beef stand in Chicago!

Everything about their breakfast sandwich is amazing. Everything. It was huge and was more than enough for the hubs & me. Like honestly, a 3rd person could have helped us eat it, but we wouldn't want anyone else sharing this amazingness with us. They were super nice and gave us the spicy sauce on the side (since I'm a wimp but Nate Z. loves anything spicy).

I am very happy to have discovered this place. Before discovering Book Trader Cafe, I was quite frustrated by the available options near Yale. First of all, this cafe is a clean, well-lit place. It has a lovely atrium with light above you and on two sides, which makes it perfect for relaxing conversation. The service is friendly, the lay-out is logical, the servers are intelligent -- and so is the menu.

Aren’t you sick and tired of everybody bragging about “the greatest burger in the universe” or “the country’s best cup of coffee” or “the world’s best blah blah blah”? Here at Bunk Sandwiches, we”ve decided to level the playing field. We didn’t think it was very nice to brag about how incredibly awesome our sandwiches are. We figured we would let your tongues do the talking. You be the judge. I bet if you come on down and buy a Bunk Sandwich today, it will be virtually impossible for you to go away disappointed. With a name like Bunk, things are only bound to get better. Photos By: Shawn Khoury Bunk Sandwiches is owned and operated by good friends and sandwich aficionados, Tommy Habetz and Nick Wood.

First stop in Philly was to fill our hungry bellies. After watching the Travel Channel, I have noted this place is a must try. Got here around lunch time and there was a huge line that wrapped around Dinic's, but my friends and I decided we will wait. The wait was about 40 minutes, which isn't too unusual for us New Yorkers.

It's been a couple of years, so I was worried that nostalgia and high expectations were going to lead to disappointment, but Domilise's still makes the best shrimp po' boy in New Orleans. This makes it the best worldwide. If you are keeping track, that puts it up with the best sandwiches in existence.

Faidley's managed to meet my extremely high expectations...and then some! My expectations were met by the affordable and HUGE, fully lump, minimal filler sweet and flavorful jumbo lump crab cake ($12.95). The extra oomph came from some unexpectedly delicious deviled eggs. They were sweeter than your standard deviled eggs, but the flavors totally worked (half egg for ~$0.65).

Our Roast Pork is completely homemade. We use only top-choice pork and bone the meat right on premises. The pork is seasoned according to an old family recipe and is roasted in our commercial oven daily. Try a real homemade roast pork sandwich!

I'm a sucker for going to places featured on Travel Channel - this place is good but best sandwich in America...eh not sure. Good enough to keep in the rotation of places I will eat at on Saturdays when I drive into work or have a craving for pulled pork BBQ.

Located just two blocks down from Market Square in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Jay's has become an overnight institution among locals who appreciate exceptional seafood. The quality of fare is unsurpassed, with fish arriving daily from local fisherman as well as some exotic catches from locations such as New Zealand and Ecuador. Four to six varieties appear on the ever-changing "Catch of the Day" menu, complimented by your choice of a gourmet sauce or marinade. The standard menu offers a more traditional flavor, including Maine Crab Cake, Haddock Piccata and the popular Linguine in White Clam Sauce. The atmosphere is casually hip, with no pretense. Reservations encouraged.

The best combination has to be half pastrami and half corned beef though. With a side of cucumber and pickles, life is complete. The meat is so well seasoned and prepared, I can literally just eat the slices as is without the bread.

Kroll's East in Green Bay, Wisconsin is like Arthur Bryant's is to Kansas City or Skyline Chili is to Cincinnati. It's an experience, and it's one that shouldn't be missed. I don't get to Green Bay often but when I do, a visit to Kroll's for their famous chili and cheeseburger is a religious experience for this foodie. No, it's not high dining, but it's a predictable kind of step back into the past--1935 to be exact--and the kind of place soldiers getting ready to deploy to the middle east ask to dine at as their last meal before they leave home. It's a diner, a dive, the kind of place regular folks crave.
