Quintessential austin experience. In my top three so far. We sat at the bar which faces the kitchen. Hipster chefs. Fun, quaint atmosphere. Progressive farm-to-table menu. Clever flavor combinations.

I probably live here as much as I do at my office and apartment. A very well run, clean, organized and well stocked supermarket. They have seasonal local produce (best raspberries ever in the summer!) and an overall great produce section. The bakery is great too, the muffins and breads are not to be missed! The daily soup specials are very good too, particularly their butternut squash. Nice cheese selection as well. I buy fish there occasionally, which is always fresh.

Great "home cooked" like your mom would make (if she were mexican). Taco truck/stand in parking lot of neighborhood laundromat. If your lucky enough to be there when the ghetto ice cream van drives by, u got yourself some desert too.

Delicious! And the people who work here are so nice. Every time I've gone I've ended up with some additional treat on the house all because I was curious about a menu item I'd never seen before.

True to my six year old self, I can not order anything besides the poor russ sandwich. It is the most glorious understated thing on the menu & I have sweet dreams about it. The bread soaks up the juicy perfection that is the burnt ends & the bbq sauce... oh the sauce.

Luckily we made it in at the start of dinner service and were immediately seated in the back. Little did I know what was about to ensue...

Anthony Bourdain ended his renowned show No Reservations right here at Jay & Lloyd's. Not at a trendy Williamsburg eatery, or a world-famous historical hot dog joint. A kosher deli set in a sleepy neighborhood of Brooklyn that makes some of the best deli food you'll ever eat.

My friends and I went on a Saturday night. We had 6 people so it took a while for us to be all seated. I'd recommend against going here in a large group since most of the tables are for smaller parties.

JMueller BBQ

This is the Texas BBQ I expected when I went to Austin. JMueller (now known as LA BBQ) is an unassuming food trailer near South Congress. It's easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for. We got there around noon and waited in line for about 30 min, during which we were handed more free beer than we knew what to do with.

My good friend spoke very highly of LC's Burnt Ends and they were no joke! Slathered in just the right amount of sweet, mildly spicy BBQ sauce, the quadrilateral hunks of proteinacious awesome were explosions of succulent, savory flavor one after another. And depending on the cut, you can get a hit of fatty glory or deliciously smoky char...yum!

I have only eaten the Z-man at OK Joe's. That's all I will ever eat here because it is amazing!!! Crunchy onion rings on a bbq sandwich... BRILLIANT! The fries are also really good. Their seasoned salt which comes on the fries is very tasty. They also have diet Mt. Dew out of the fountain in Leawood, which almost warrants 5 stars on its own.

As it is the birthplace of the French dip, I had high expectations. It did not disappoint. I ordered a beef and provolone double dip with a side of cole slaw and a lemonade. I would pay way more than the 8 dollars this all cost me. It's so simple yet so perfect. Everything is so fresh. I left the restaurant and immediately wanted to go get another one. Next I'll try the lamb.

Back at it! Service is so much better. Granted it was a 6:30 arrival time. My friend and I had no wait. It took us longer to decide our meal than it did to get seated. Tried the pork neck, chopped pork salad and of course the wings. And all was washed down with some Chang beer.

I ordered a roast duck, stuffed with baked apples inside. I ordered it because it was a traditional Russian dish and what better place to enjoy it than an antique themed, classy Russian restaurant? I found the taste adequate to my delight! I would book a weekend night time reservation.
