Funky little drop-in bakery for your sweet tooth and light brunch needs. The easy bake ovens are a cool conversation piece and made me think that the owner has a passion for baking that went back to childhood. Everything I've tried has been spot on and the malt cupcake was especially memorable. I highly recommend.

Nice little joint that we checked out on a Sunday afternoon post-Church service. Very clean restaurant that is definitely a step up from your average fast food burger joint. It is large enough that you could probably bring a decently sized group here for an after sporting event meal or something like that. It helps that this little strip of restaurants on North Ave all have quality food, so you have to serve quality food, or you won't last! Service was friendly and fast!

I am handicapped and getting into places and ordering stuff can be a problem This place is very understanding and cooperative. I try to order on off hours so I won't disturb the workers there - and - they have been absolute ANGELS! The food is incredible - their home made potato chips (comes with hot sammies for FREE) are fantastic. They make spagetti with meat sauce that is TO DIE FOR! Great Sunday gravy (ragu). The prices from the deli counter are wonderful - and their home made pecan crescent cookies melt in your mouth. Italian food from here is a tiny bit of italian heaven!

Eddie is a culinary school graduate and a long-time Chicago line cook. After working in Barcelona, Bologna, and way too many fine-dining kitchens, he decided to try and create a situation where he could carve out a living and still make it home by 6:00 so he could eat dinner with his family every night. We use only American beef– USDA choice chuck. Never frozen. We cut and grind the beef for our burgers every morning, right here in the restaurant. We handle it gently and don’t over-work it. Nothing’s added to it until we shake some salt and pepper onto the meat as it cooks. That’s it. We’re also pleased to offer locally-raised and/or grassfed beef as an upgrade option. All of the local farms we purchase from adhere to humane, sustainable, and natural practices, so do not contain any growth hormones or antibiotics. Availability varies, but some of the farms we’ve gotten great local beef from are Slagel Family Farm (Fairbury IL), Q7 Ranch (Marengo, IL), CDK Angus (Lena, IL), LaPryor Farms (Ottawa, IL), and Dietzler Farms (Elkhorn, WI). Support local farmers!

It was very hard for me not to go next door to DMK burger for one of my all time favorite burgers coming from a self proclaimed connoisseur but we wanted to try something new. I was not disappointed. I really wanted the full belly clams but they were out so I opted for fish fries (smelt) and an oyster po boy. Everything was so fresh and so clean like Outkast. My wife's clam chowder was one of the best soups I have tasted and comes highly recommended if you like creamy soups or chowders. The beers looked so good and ice cold served in mason jars which I really enjoy. Everything I did not order looked amazing and made me want to go back to try other things like the ceviche, tartar and oysters. Service was very nice and gave us a free app for somehow not putting our order through, I ain't mad at him or the restaurant at all.

CASH ONLY In 1946 city workers Gene Mormino and Jude DeSantis were at a Cubs game at Wrigley Field when Gene decided if he added French fries to his hot dog it would give it a gratifying dose of saltiness and crunchiness. Based on that idea, the two partners started a hot dog stand at Polk & Western Streets in Chicago. Their restaurant quickly gained popularity, but 3 years later Gene lost the entire stand in a card game in 1949. In 1950 they gathered enough money and moved operations to their current location in River Grove, Illinois. Since 2004 it has been owned and run by Joe Mormino, Gene's son. In 2006, Gene's & Jude's was inducted into the Vienna Beef Hot Dog Hall of Fame. In 2011, in a competition of 64 hot dog stands across the country, it was chosen by the magazine "Every Day with Rachel Ray" and the food blog Serious Eats as the best hot dog in America.

We stumbled upon Grahamwich and decided to give it a try. We arrived at the opportune moment as a longer line began to form when we were ordering and waiting for our food. I ordered the Heirloom Turkey (turkey, cranberries, stuffing, brie and mayo on a pita) while my co-workers ordered two Mediterranean Veggies (veggies + goat cheese on flat bread), the Grilled Cheese, and a salad. Both the Mediterranean Veggies and the Grilled Cheese looked delicious, and I was quickly regretting my decision to order the Heirloom Turkey. The turkey had a nice flavor but was pretty dry. The top half of the pita was very bland -- all I could taste was dry turkey and plain pita. I was hoping that the bottom half would be better. Though the pita improved once I reached the cranberries and brie, I was still disappointed. Plus, the promised stuffing and mayo were essentially nonexistent.

Best bone in pork chop sandwich ever. Fish sandwich is a VERY close second. I've never honestly gotten around to eating anything else there in my many years as i just can't get around to ordering anything else. the fries are bomb, and so are the hot peppers. Guys working the counter are friendly and funny in their own way. If you think the area there is sketchy (especially now after the massive gentrification in the area the past 5-10 years), then you need to head back to your white suburban bubble.

La Pasadita has been serving up delicious tacos and catering the Chicago land area for over thirty years. With its roots tracing back to 1976 with the opening of a single restaurant at 1141 N. Ashland Avenue. Today, La Pasadita Restaurant and Taqueria has three restaurants on the same street block. All three restaurants are family owned and operated which has never changed since the 1976 which explains why La Pasadita has continued to make great Mexican food. In 2008 we also decided to expand our restaurant base and open a few more restaurants. We currently have two new locations One on the north side and one on the west side of Chicago. La Pasadita is best known for its mouth watering taco taste. Over 3,500 tacos are served daily to customers waiting in lines which most of the time extend outside. No matter what time of day it is Chicago always knows where to find the best Mexican food...La Pasadita.

Having spent years living on the east coast, having a lunch this good for 10-11 dollar is a steal. The best is the salmon sandwich with the side of greens. A huge piece of salmon with arugula on fresh bread. Perfect size for lunch.

Ken Raskin, proprietor and son of the late Manny, works the rooms, greeting customers who have known him since he was a small boy. Ken feels that part of the secret to his success is being visible to his customers, making sure they are happy and satisfied. Ken’s sons Danny and Matt, fourth generation, have now joined full time and help in personally overseeing the daily work of the restaurant. Ken's wife Patti or one of his other 2 children, Jason and Stephanie, are often around making sure the customers have eaten to their hearts' content.

I've been going to Mars Cheese Castle since before Yelp was an idea on paper. With how young the internet is, that might not be saying much, but it's a fact nonetheless.
