The Black Sheep

tv show: Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America

This is a Richmond restaurant that is doing it right, living up to the hype, and is a solid contender for breakfast, lunch and dinner- or even desserts and drink. From the art, decor and cute mix matched coffee cups and salt and pepper shakers- its perfect combination of cute and useful. The price is exactly right for its quality, size and atmosphere, and it makes you really want to go back there.

Pasture Restaurant

tv show: Bizarre Foods America

In Richmond on a work trip for a couple of nights - Pasture was recommended by the folks at Marriott Outstanding service. Friendly and knowledgable. Started with an order of the pork / chorizo meatballs. Wow. Entrees perfectly cooked - we had the pork chop and captain's chicken - both plates cleaned. Pasture tries to source as much of their food, ingredients, etc from local farms - so the pork and chicken we had were from VA farms where the animals most likely led peaceful lives on well cared for land.....our server confirmed the chef / owner buys whole / half hogs and butchers himself on premise.....which for me is a big deal.

Peter Chang China Cafe

tv show: Bizarre Foods America

I don't understand when people say this is a small restaurant. This is a regular sized restaurant. No, it's not a two story PF Chang's, but just a normal restaurant. We liked everything we had but wouldn't necessarily repeat it. We got some very spicy beef appetizer, that tasted like firey beef jerky. We got some dried spicy chicken and kung pao chicken. Something like kung pao chicken can drive me crazy because when it's done well it is so delicious, but so many places do a terrible job. Obviously, Peter Chang's did a tremendous job. I think this was my last time getting that dried spicy chicken because I just don't love the texture (or that it's so spicy you can barely eat it). But if you love flavorful spicy food- that's your dish! We will be back try the smoked duck!

Captain Chuck-a-Mucks

tv show: Diners Drive-Ins and Dives

Honestly, i dont know why people complain about the service, the plates, the plastic forks, & the picnic tables. I really don't care about that stuff (even though the service was good) all i care about is the food & the prices. The food was delicious & the prices were a little high but not that bad.

Metro 29 Diner

In the mood for the Challah bread french toast and did not disappoint. You get two thick slices of heavy/thick bread, and I opted for the juicy sausage (extra cost). What a great meal for brunch. Good coffee also.

Harvey's Hot Dogs

tv show: Diners Drive-Ins and Dives

My family has been going to Harvey's Hot Dogs ever since I was a little kid. In fact, my mother and Harvey went to high school together, we've pretty much always known him. I know that he is leaving Harvey's Hot Dogs soon and I am not sure if it is going to stay the same place but I'm going to put in my two cents anyway.
